Most everyone has heard the term chiropractic, but there is a tremendous amount of misinformation about what exactly chiropractic is. Webster’s dictionary states chiropractic is,”a system of noninvasive therapy which holds that certain musculoskeletal disorders result from nervous system dysfunction arising from misalignment of the spine and joints and that focuses treatment especially on the manual adjustment or manipulation of the spinal vertebrae”.Chiropractic is a licensed health care profession that emphasizes the body’s ability to heal itself. While all chiropractors are different, most chiropractors perform what is called the adjustment which is usually delivered by hand and involves a quick and gentle thrust, to improve joint function and movement. Other forms of treatment, such as exercise, stretching, traction and nutritional counseling, may be used as well. Simply put however, chiropractic removes interference to the nerves so your body works, moves and feels better
